Dear Friend,

Dinners For Kids was founded more than 11 years ago with the goal of addressing Childhood hunger by providing daily prepared, nutritious and balanced dinners (accompanied with fresh fruit) to at-risk children.  Our goal, and enduring objective, is to do everything possible to ensure that children never again go to bed on an empty stomach.

Today, we feed in excess of 190 children year-round, providing 60,000 meals annually, to children who otherwise would be deprived of dinner or subsist on unfulfilling and unhealthy snacks.  The research is irrefutable – healthy meals for children are essential for growth, development, and learning.

Thanks to your help, we have done so much for our region’s children – but there is always more to do and there are more children to reach.

Please join us at our 5th annual dinner event on Thursday October 13th, 2022. Our honorees this year are John Cosgrove, CEO of AllOne Foundation, and AllOne Foundation. John and AllOne Foundation deserve this recognition and expression of appreciation.  In the last three years, we have received sizable grants from AllOne Foundation, enabling us to serve more families that suffered during the pandemic, lost their jobs, and lost out on school lunches for their children, who were struggling to learn from home.  On top of this, food prices have skyrocketed due to inflation and supply-side challenges, only adding to the challenges.

Non-profit organizations are making the world a better place. In his role as CEO of AllOne Foundation & Charities, John helped many non-profit organizations in our community expand and thrive.  I hope you will join us in congratulating John and AllOne Foundation and support our program.  Please see the attached sponsorship form.

For more information, please contact me.  Thank you and we hope to see you at the event,

Sincerely,

David Tevet

About Dinners for Kids

Founded over 11 years ago by David and Edna Tevet, Dinners for Kids has provided more than 400,000 meals to food insecure children in the Greater Wyoming Valley.  Currently more than 190 children receive 6 dinner meals each week, 52 weeks per year, delivered to their homes by volunteers at no cost to their families.

How is this possible? It is thanks to the financial support of our community and the many volunteers who package and deliver the meals.

Dinners for Kids Program Fills Bodies and Minds
According to the Luzerne County Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO), there are more than 10,500 children in Luzerne County who are food insecure. The Dinners for Kids Program began with a group of volunteers and resources from Dave Tevet, the owner of Ollie's Restaurant. Now the program is providing nutitritious meals to those children most in need.

It's a simple process: A list of eligible children is provided by Children and Youth as well as school officials; the meals are prepared at Ollie's Restaurant staff, packaged and delivered by volunteers. To continue this simple, yet successful formula, we need volunteers and donations.  You can help...Fight childhood hunger with healthy meals today!
